Molasses Reef
The popular dive spot for the south section is Molasses Reef. There are large grouper, sharks as well as tarpon and eagle-rays. This dive spot is within a Sanctuary Preservation Area. Fishing is prohibited. Molasses Reef was named after the SS Slobodna which was a ship transporting cotton back to Europe.
Southpoint Divers
Southpoint Divers in Key West has been awarded numerous times for its excellence. It is the oldest dive center in Key West and has been in business since 1991. They offer classes, charters, and many other services. The dive boat, M/V Phoenix, is equipped with a camera table, fresh water showers, storage space, and two dive ladders. It can carry up to 40 divers. Southpoint Divers doesn't take in more than 27 divers.
