Divers with dive specialties can make a difference on every dive

scuba

A Dive specialty is a subset in diving that can help divers develop valuable skills. A Diver with a Specialty can learn to make every dive a better experience. This type can often be specialized in a specific area and specialize in a particular type or equipment. Enriched Air Nitrox or EANx (Boat Diving), Deep Scuba, and Boat Diving are just a few examples. These diving specialties are available to learn more.

Enriched Air Nitrox

To learn more about the many benefits of enriched water, you can become a PADI Enriched Air(Nitrox) Diver. The specialty course involves hands-on exercises and independent study. There are also two optional Nitrox dives. The course can either be completed online or offline. This specialization requires a tank that meets specific oxygen service standards.

Underwater Photography

If you are passionate about taking pictures, diving can be a great way for you to increase your knowledge and skills. Underwater photography is one of many specialties in diving. You will learn basic principles and techniques in underwater photography. You will also learn about underwater lighting. Additionally, you will learn proper etiquette for underwater photography and how to properly photograph them. The PADI eLearning course will help you learn about underwater photography and connect you with an instructor.

Boat Diving

The PADI Boat Diver Specialty Course is for you, whether you are just beginning your dive adventure or looking to take on a new challenge. This course will teach you about diving boats, proper etiquette and entry and exit procedures. It also teaches you how to pack your gear for the trip. Also, the course covers boat safety and handling emergencies while on water.

Deep Scuba

Divers can choose from several Deep Scuba diving Specialties. Certified divers have already completed the first dive in an Advanced Diver course and can go deeper. Deep Scuba divers need knowledge about the effects of pressure, breathing, and diving. As their body functions and systems get more exposed at deeper depths, deep-scuba divers will need to be aware of how they breathe and what it means for them. It is important that they learn how to safely plan and execute deep dives. Some of these specialties require more training than others. However, there are a few prerequisites for certification.

Underwater Navigation

Navigation is essential in scuba diving. You can use underwater navigation to find objects or dive to beautiful reefs. Scuba divers need to be able navigate, so it is crucial to learn how to use the compasse correctly. There are several ways to practice underwater navigation, including by using the compass or natural references.
