What is an Aqua-Lung? In its most basic form, an Aqua-Lung can be described as a self-contained, open circuit breathing apparatus. Aqua-Lungs was one of the first type of self-contained respiratory apparatus. It quickly gained commercial success and popularity around the world. This type of equipment is often called a demand valve, twin-hose diving regulator, or simply a diving regulator. Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan were some of the first to use aqua-lungs, and they became an instant hit in the world of diving.
Jacques Cousteau
Jacques Cousteau developed the first self-contained open-circuit underwater respirator in the 1940s. Cousteau designed the first underwater breathing apparatus that used compressed air. This device, called the Aqua-Lung (or the Aqua-Lung), opened the world up to divers and anyone else who was interested in diving. The Aqua-Lung was the standard for divers all over the world, thanks to Cousteau.
Emile Gagnan
Emile Gagnan (Jacques-Yves Cousteau) and Emile Gagnan (Emil Gagnen) invented the Aqua lung in the 1940s. It was inspired from the earlier designs for diving helmets of the 19th century. It allows underwater divers the ability to breathe through a mouthpiece, which releases compressed oxygen activated by diver's breath. Gagnan improved the regulator valve of the device, which automatically supplies compressed air to the mouthpiece of the diver in proportion to how much breath the diver takes. This device revolutionized diving and allowed divers to explore underwater depths for scientific research, military, and recreational purposes.

The first open-circuit demand controller
The Aqua-Lung was developed by Cousteau in 1944. It was patented in 1946. The Aqua-Lung scuba regulator has been a hit since its inception. Gagnan (cousteau's father in law) and Emile Gagnan (a French chemist), were also part of this team. They all knew Cousteau’s research and decided that they would collaborate to create Aqua-Lung regulator.
The BC1
The BC1 Aqua Lung is an advanced back inflation BC for advanced commercial, military, and public safety divers. It is ruggedly designed and offers exceptional comfort, fit, stability, and support. The user manual includes details about the weights that can be inserted into each pouch. Two weight capacities are available for the BC1, one one chest and one one back. Different weight pouches can be used to customize the BC1 for individual needs.
The Titan
Aqua Lung Titan, a portable and lightweight regulator, integrates many of the same features as previous generations. Its lightweight design makes it comfortable to use and its soft polyurethane cover provides a comfortable fit. Its sturdy and lightweight design makes it easy on the dive boat. Its price is moderate, making it affordable for many people. The device comes with two stages, including a second stage that prevents unwanted freeflow.
The Mentor
Aqua lung Mentor is a regulator created in collaboration with USA Navy. This regulator replaces the older double-hosed regulators that are used to teach divers how to rebreather. The Aqua lung is not yet available to the public but it is an excellent option for professional divers who are looking for an alternative for the double-hose regulators. Be aware of these things when purchasing the Aqualung Mentor. Before you buy the Aqua lung Mentor, make sure that it is calibrated.
