If you are thinking of your next scuba diving adventure, think about going somewhere remote and exotic. The famous dive spots like Shark Reef Marine Reserve, Philippines, are just a few of the options. You may also consider diving the corals off the coast Indonesia. These places are famous for their bizarre muck diving critters, manta rays and other stunning sights. These areas will make you swoon over the chance to explore them.

Sipadan

Sipadan reefs are a favorite spot in the Philippines and a lure that entices divers to dive. This area is located in the middle of a coral triangle, making it one of the most biodiverse marine environments in the world. You will see turtles, sharks and lionfish in this area. Sipadan has visibility of between 15 m and 40 m, so it's easy to explore the underwater realm.

Shark Reef Marine Reserve

Some of the most spectacular dives can be experienced in the shark-rich waters at the Shark Reef Marine Reserve. The marine reserve offers a unique experience as it is home to many species of fish and coral. There are over 5,000 varieties of seaweeds and mollusks. The incredible Heart Reef formation, which is a heart-shaped coral reef, is one of the most spectacular places to see. The structure measures 17 meters in width and is an amazing sight from the air.

Half Moon Caye Wall

This amazing dive site is home for many kinds of marine animals. Recently, it was discovered that the wall is also home for sharks. They have now named it their new home. Keep an eye out for brain coral and sea fans while you are on the wall. You may even spot a turtle or two. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also explore the underwater tunnels between coral outcrops.


Yongala

Divers can choose from several options to dive the SS Yongala. Townsville, just three hours away by fastboat, is the starting point for liveaboards. The dives here are about 30m deep and are best suited for Advanced certified divers. Spend a bit more money to take a day tour and dive the SS Yongala. The trip lasts approximately three hours, and includes two tanks.

Punta Vicente Roca

Punta Vicente Rocca is a unique spot for scuba diving. It is only 200 km from the nearest island. You can see many sea creatures here including the Galapagos Marine Iguana, red-lipped Batfish and schooling blackstriped Salema. Photographers may also be able to capture the rare Galapagos flightless Cormorants.

Bonaire

Bonaire's diverse and beautiful diving spots will delight divers. The leeward end of Bonaire is home to many notable dive sites. This site is loved by divers and snorkelers alike. The clear waters and abundance of schooling fish make it a favorite spot. This site, together with the Karpata diving site, has incredible drop-offs.
