There are many options for advanced technical diving certifications. TDI offers Intro to Tech and Advanced Nitrox courses, while PADI offers Tec Trimix, Deep Diver and Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment, gas switching, emergency techniques, and more. For more information, visit the TDI website.
TDI Intro To Tech Course
The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also be used to introduce you to TDI’s advanced courses like Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. You can also use it to refresh those who have previously taken technical courses. TDI technical instructors can evaluate your skills during the course.
The TDI Intro to Tech course for divers who have not used twin cylinders, a wing or a wing is designed for those who are new to diving. The course also covers advanced buoyancy control, gas management, and more. Students will also develop situational awareness, as well as trim skills. The course is taught in the sea or in open cenotes that offer conditions similar to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is designed for open water divers to improve their skills and introduce them to the technical equipment configurations. You will also learn how to use advanced gas planning techniques. You will not be permitted to decompress the course but can still use enriched air nitrogenx mixes.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures training prepares divers for accelerated decompression. During this course, students learn advanced gas planning and management techniques to ensure that their dives are as safe as possible. Students will also learn how manage their equipment and plan ahead for any eventualities. A TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course includes four dives with a maximum depth of 40 meters (130 feet).
This course can be taken as a standalone course or as part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses are performance-based, lasting four days. Six dives are required, with two below 30m. Students complete the course based on their personal experience and requirements. This course prepares students to dive in advanced technical conditions, including wrecks in Scapa Flow or the UK.
PADI Tec Trimix course
The final step in the PADI Technical Diver open-circuit path is the PADI Tec Trimix90 course. This certification course opens doors to deeper dives and allows divers to discover new places. This course is not suitable for tec divers with extensive experience who want to expand their range and explore deeper underwater environments. A valid dive license is required. You also need to pass a medical check in order to be certified as trimix diving. You will need two 30cf stage bottles, a face mask and a pair of fins for this certification.
The Tec Trimix 65 diver must log at least 350 dives and at least 50 decompression dives using less than 21 percent oxygen for the PADI Tec Trimix course. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. It also offers multiple teaching scenarios. It is the highest level of technical diving certification. The requirements are much more stringent than the PADI Tec Diver certification.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
The PADI Tec Deep Diver certification is a more advanced course for recreational divers. This certification includes four dives. It also covers safety stops and descents. You will also practice the use of technical diving equipment, such as a side-mounted cylinder and EANx. You'll also learn about how to plan a deep dive and manage your gas supply. You can choose to take your lessons online, or offline. The PADI Tec eLearning course allows you to work at your own pace.
The program can be completed in as little as two years, which is a marked improvement on the PADI courses. First, you will need to obtain a Tec 50 dive certification from an approved organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. The Tec 50 diver training may be offered by the PADI Course Director who conducts the Tec Deep Instructor course. Upon completion of the Tec Deep Instructor course, the PADI Course Director will issue you a Tec Deep Diver certification.
