There are many reasons to take Nitrox certification courses. Nitrox diving gives you the opportunity to feel the thrill of enriched water. It will make you more confident in your diving. Many organizations offer certification courses. These are just a few: NAUI Enriched Airnitrox Diver, PADI Enriched Air Divers, SSI Adventure Diver and Open Water Diver.
PADI Enriched Air Diver
PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx), certification is for divers who want to increase their bottom time. This course includes a home study and a brief classroom session. The EANx course teaches you about the oxygen content in the scuba tanks, how to use a scuba analyzer and the standard procedures for recording that percentage.
Air divers who have been nitrox-enriched can extend their time underwater without needing to stop often. This is because the air mix contains less nitrogen. It has a higher safety margin. Furthermore, enriched mixes often have 32% to 36% oxygen, which is ideal for diving in shallower waters.

NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver
A enriched air diver certificate is a great step to start your dives. The course teaches you about blending air, how to safely handle high oxygen concentrations, as well the risks involved. Moreover, you'll learn how to operate a dive computer and analyze the contents of your tanks. In addition, you'll also learn about the Equivalent Air Depthance (EANx) and how to use a standard air dive table. Also, you'll learn about common blending processes for nitrogen/oxygen.
Enriched air, also known as Nitrox, is a type of breathing gas that contains more oxygen than standard air. The increased oxygen content means you can stay underwater longer and not need to refill your tank. This is good news for your health, as it alleviates decompression fatigue. Also, enriched divers have shorter surface intervals.
SSI Adventure Diver
SSI is a well-respected diving organization. The SSI Adventure Diver Nitrox Certification, one of the highest ratings, is one of their most advanced ratings. The certification requires knowledge, experience, and skills. You must have at least 50 dives, and four specialty courses to be eligible for this award.
The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox training course was designed to give students the skills and knowledge required to dive in poor visibility. The course teaches divers to use special equipment, navigate in the dark and communicate with a buddy. They will be eligible for the SSI Nitrox Specialty Certification once they have successfully completed the course.

SSI Open Water Diver
The SSI Open Water Diver Course is an internationally recognized certification program. It includes three sections: academic learning; in-water swimming pool training; and multiple open water dives. You will learn to plan and dive with enriched oxygen mixes of up to 40% oxygen during this course. This can help you increase your bottom time and shorten your surface intervals, and may help you avoid decompression sickness.
PADI and SSI dive centers are different in the way they handle certifications. PADI certifications require you to purchase your manual. With an SSI certificate, however, your card will be issued by the dive center in which you have completed your course. You may also be able to use temporary cards from PADI certification centres as proof of your certification.
