There are many options for advanced technical diving certifications. TDI offers Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, and PADI offers Tec Trimix and Deep Diver courses. The TDI Advanced Nitrox course introduces advanced diving techniques for recreational Nitrox divers. This course covers equipment operation, gas switching, and advanced emergency procedures such as liftbag deployment. Visit the TDI web site for more information.
TDI Intro course in Tech
The TDI Intro to Tech is a standalone training program that allows you to expand your recreational training and learn more advanced technical skills. It can also be used as a gateway to TDI’s more advanced courses, like Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures) and Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures). Or, it could be used as refresher material for people who have already completed technical courses. TDI technical instructors can evaluate your skills during the course.
For divers who have never dived with twin cylinders or a wing, the TDI Intro to Tech course will be helpful. It also covers advanced buoyancy control and gas management. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course is taught in the sea or in open cenotes that offer conditions similar to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. This course is intended to enhance your open water diving skills, and to introduce you the technical equipment configurations. You will also learn how to use advanced gas planning techniques. It is strictly a no-decompression course, but you will be allowed to use enriched air nitrox mixes during the course.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures courses prepare divers for accelerated and staged decompression. During this course, students learn advanced gas planning and management techniques to ensure that their dives are as safe as possible. Students also learn how they manage their equipment and plan to handle any unexpected events. The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression procedures course includes four dives to a maximum depth 40m (130ft).
This course can be taken separately or as part a certification in Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures classes are performance-based and last for four days. Sixteen dives are required and two of the dives must be below 30 meters. Students complete the course according to their experience and personal requirements. This course prepares students for advanced technical diving, including wrecks in Scapa Flow and the UK.
PADI Tec Trimix course
The PADI Tec Trimix 90 course is the final stage of the PADI Technical Diver open circuit path. This certification allows you to dive deeper and go places that no one else has. This course is for experienced tec divers who wish to expand their diving range and explore deeper waters. You must hold a valid diving license and pass a medical exam to become certified in trimix diving. For this certification, you need two 30cf stage bottles and a face mask.
PADI Tec Trimix 65 divers must have logged at most 350 dives. This includes at least 50 dives with a trimix of less than 21 per cent oxygen. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. Multiple teaching scenarios are also included in the course. This is the most advanced technical diving certification. It is important to note that these requirements are more rigorous than those for the PADI Tec Diver standard course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
The PADI Tec Deep Diver certification is a more advanced course for recreational divers. This certification allows for four dives. The technical diving equipment you use, such as a side mounted cylinder and EANx, will be practiced. Learn how to plan deep diving and manage your gas supplies. Online or offline lessons are possible with the PADI Tec eLearning system. You can also take your lessons at your own pace.
This program, unlike previous PADI courses can be completed within two years. First, you must be certified by Tec 50 from an approved organization. You must be able to dive at 50m, deep diving and pure oxygen. The Tec 50 diver training may be offered by the PADI Course Director who conducts the Tec Deep Instructor course. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
